Covid-19, June 2020: Languid Days

Another month in the neighbourhood as covid-19 recommendations continue to stress the importance of avoiding nonessential travel. Even with limitations, life is anything but monotonous.

The landscape near home is constantly changing. Trees and shrubs have filled out, and flowers are punctuating the street with splashes of colour. At the extremes of the day, long, lingering shadows provide shape and an air of mystery to structures that otherwise reveal themselves as lacklustre, even dreary.

With the mercury rising, many people appear to have lowered their aversion to risk, embracing the attitude that summer is here to be enjoyed. That said, the shadow of a possible second wave is never far from top of mind.
